Q: Did you always see yourself working in hospitality? Did you have any other dream jobs growing up?
A: Funny enough, I didn’t realize hospitality could be a career. I always imagined myself as a police officer or a detective. But after high school, I had the opportunity to participate in the Disney College Program, and it completely changed my perspective. It opened my eyes to the world of hospitality, and that’s when I discovered my passion for planning large-scale events. The rest, as they say, is history!
Q: What is your favorite part about working for Corinthian Events?
A: My favorite part of working at Corinthian Events is the incredible events we create and the amazing clients we get to work with. Most people think our jobs are glamorous—and don’t get me wrong, we’ve had some unforgettable experiences—but what they don’t see is the behind-the-scenes hustle: our team sitting on the floor of a back hallway, eating dinner in our laps, solving problems in real-time, and transforming a vendor-filled ballroom into a stunning event space just minutes before doors open. We make magic happen. It’s exhausting, stressful at times, but always worth it!
Q: What is something you’re proud to have accomplished in your events career?
A: In 2017, I decided to go back to college and obtain my bachelor’s degree while working full-time at Corinthian Events. In 2020, I graduated summa cum laude from Johnson & Wales with a degree in Hospitality Management. Balancing school, work, and executing events was a whole new level of discipline—I’d wake up at 4:00 AM to complete my coursework before heading to work. Looking back, it’s all a blur, but it remains one of my proudest achievements.
That same year, I also earned my DMCP (Destination Management Certified Professional), a certification I had long strived for. 2020 may have been a year of challenges, but for me, it was also a year of milestones.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant or activity in Boston?
A: My favorite restaurant in Boston is the Barking Crab. Every year, I take my birthday off and treat myself to steamers, lobster, and a good glass of rosé. It’s my favorite birthday tradition.
Q: What is an event you’ve always wanted to execute?
A: A dream event I’ve always wanted to be a part of is something like the Grammys, the Emmys, or a big concert. The production and logistics required to put on any of those major events would be incredible to experience.
Q: Where do you think is the best view of Boston?
A: That’s a tough one! With Boston being on the water, there are so many great views of our city. I would say either from the State Room or the Pavilion at the JFK Library.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
A: ‘You can do hard things’ and ‘Fake it until you make it.’ It may seem simple, but these mantras have carried me through some of the toughest moments. There are times when we find ourselves in overwhelming situations, but keeping a strong exterior and embracing a ‘you got this’ mindset—even when you’re shaking on the inside—can make all the difference. Confidence grows with experience, but sometimes, you have to step into it before you fully feel it.
Q: Outside of work hours, what is something you enjoy doing?
A: During the week, you’ll often find me at Orange Theory or out for a long walk or run around Castle Island. On weekends, I’m either spending time with family and friends or traveling for a quick getaway. I keep my schedule busy both inside and outside of work because you only live once! I’m all about traveling, trying new experiences, and saying yes to adventure. You can pretty much convince me to try anything at least once—life’s too short not to.
