Q: Did you always see yourself working in hospitality? Did you have any other dream jobs growing up?

A: I always knew I wanted to work in a creative field, but didn’t necessarily know I would end up in hospitality. I started college as a journalism major because I thought I wanted to be an entertainment reporter. Growing up, I was obsessed with reading magazines and would always be keeping up with red-carpet interviews. There was a point in time when I would tell people I wanted to be a wedding planner because I thought it would be fun – maybe I had an inkling!

Q: What educational or work experiences led you to want to work in events?

A: In my third year of college, I was a publicity intern for a marketing agency that focused on live events and exhibitions. I found that I really enjoyed selling experiences to people and finding creative ways to make people excited about events. I was also on the artistic board of my college dance company where I was in charge of planning events, promotional photo and video shoots, and content for our social media, which fueled my interest in the marketing and social media side of my job.

Q: What is something people might not know about you?

A: I was a competitive dancer from age 8 through graduating high school. Being a dancer truly shaped who I am as a person, and it is still my favorite way of staying active to this day.

Q: Is there an event trend or décor theme you would like to see used more in the coming year?

A: I am biased but I always want to see more dancers at events, whether they are roving around the space, kicking off an opening session, or as a specialty performance. I also love serpentine tables – more unique table configurations this year!

Q: What is your favorite part about working for Corinthian Events?

A: I think almost everyone has the same answer to this question, but it’s the people. The level of passion and work ethic on our team is incredible. Everyone is always checking in on each other and willing to help wherever needed. You can’t help but be inspired by seeing the scale and level of detail in some of the events our team pulls off!

Q: What is your favorite restaurant or activity in Boston?

A: My friends and I are almost always at Loco Fenway, any time of day, but usually for brunch. Not only is everything on the menu great, but the décor and atmosphere are also so fun.

Q: What is an event theme or destination activity you would want to execute for a client?

A: I have always wanted to have a DMC group take Boston’s movie mile walking tour. Partially for selfish reasons so that I could also go on the tour, but one of my favorite things about Boston is how many movies have been filmed here.

Q: Outside of work hours, what is something you enjoy doing?

A: You can likely find me at the movies or at a concert. The idea of shared experience is something I really appreciate and seek out. I also love reading, going on walks, and exploring the city or spending time with my friends. I feel very lucky that we all live close and get to see each other often.

Q: Can you share a favorite or most memorable moment from your events career so far?

A: A memorable moment from when I first started at Corinthian Events was helping Accor Hospitality plan a spring sales event to introduce the new Raffles Hotel to Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. It was the first event I executed from start to finish, and there was room to incorporate creative design and marketing elements which I loved.
