Q: Did you have a dream job growing up? If so, what was it?
A: I always thought I would be a teacher at my grade school. My two best friends and I always fought over who would get to teach second grade, as there weren’t enough second grade classrooms for all three of us. The funny thing is that none of us ended up becoming teachers!
Q: Outside of work hours, what is something you enjoy doing?
A: I love to spend time with my dog, Indy. We take lots of walks along the water in the North End. I am excited that all the outdoor drinks spots in Boston have reopened for the summer so that he can come along!
Q: What is your favorite part about working for Corinthian Events?
A: I love the team at Corinthian Events. Everyone is so willing to help one another, It is also a great collaborative environment, which is beneficial both internally for the team and externally for our clients. We do a lot of team lunches together and large group brainstorms for our events. Someone is always coming up with a new and fun idea!
Q: What is something people might not know about you?
A: This is hard because I keep very few secrets about myself! Something that always surprises people is that I hate chocolate. I have since I was a little kid and although sometimes I wish I liked it, I simply do not.
Q: How did you end up working in hospitality? Did you always see yourself working in this industry?
A: I grew up in the hospitality industry. My parents were both in the restaurant business and they met at a restaurant called Alyson’s! Eventually they owned their own restaurant, and I started working there on weekends when I was 14. As a business student in college, I was required to complete two internships and both of mine ended up being in event planning. After that I was hooked!
Q: Where do you think is the best view of Boston?
A: Oh, there are so many places! I will say, I am excited that The View just opened at the Prudential Center. The observation deck is the perfect place to see an incredible view of the whole city.
Q: What is something you’re proud to have accomplished during your time at Corinthian Events?
A: Seeing any event come to life always gives me a proud “I did that” feeling. My first event with Corinthian Events was a North Pole Express for children of local charities in Boston, and that one will always be special to me. Seeing the amount of joy that the event brought kids and their families was extremely heartwarming. That event had me feeling a little extra proud at the end of the night.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant or activity in Boston?
A: I love Boston when the weather is beautiful, so anywhere I can be outside with my friends. I love the Trillium pop up beer garden on the Greenway because it is also dog friendly!
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given, event related or not?
A: I have two that I think of often. My Mommom has always told me “You catch more flies with honey than vinegar,” and the manager at our family restaurant told me to “choose my battles.” I think both of those ideas are beneficial in both my personal and professional life.
